Civility Day
On Wednesday, a group of Calumet students participated in World Civility Day held at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center in Merrillville, Indiana.

The event featured various speakers (Indiana University professor, Methodist Hospitals administrator, Gary Chamber of Commerce President, Dean and Barbara White Center administrator) who presented on topics such as digital civility, community civility counts, and civility in diversity. It was an engaging, meaningful, and fun experience for our kids!

card
By next week, all students in all buildings should have received their public library cards from the Lake County Public Library. These cards will allow students access to all digital materials from the public library. They can download books, movies and magazines on to their devices and never be without something to read!

There are no fees associated with these cards.  If students had accrued fees in the past, they will not be excluded from borrowing when using these cards.

Reading is crucial for a student’s success. Let's build stronger readers and learners through the public library system, as well as the libraries at our schools!
